SSD conversion can be done for $180 on a laptop or $220 on an iMac, including labour and a thorough cleaning of the cooling system, data migration, and general diagnostics. An older iMac will also need a $60 conversion kit (OWC thermal sensor, brackets, glue strips). The cost of the SSD depends on its storage capacity. The SSD's size depends on how much data you want to store on it.
